Refund Policy
Cookbooks

What this page covers
This page is about the cookbooks — the downloadable PDF books.
It is not about the app. The app is a separate product on a subscription, and its cancellation and refund rules are in its own terms, at /legal/app-terms/.
This page stands on its own. You do not need to read anything else to use it.
Nothing here takes away a right that the consumer law of your own country gives you.
1. Who you are dealing with, and who pays the money back
The cookbooks are sold by:
ФОП Sofiia Serhiivna Hetman (Гетьман Софія Сергіївна) — a Ukrainian sole trader, meaning a private individual registered to do business, not a company.
- Registered address: Microdistrict 2, building 46, Lozova, Kharkiv region, 64606, Ukraine
- Entry number in the Unified State Register of Ukraine (ЄДР): 2011600000000112030
- Email: admin@sofiayuzu.com
- Phone: +380 93 118 22 96
Our order process is run by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as our authorised reseller and as the merchant of record for every purchase. Paddle takes the payment, applies the VAT or sales tax due in your country, and issues the invoice.
Cookbooks are sold in one place only: here, through Paddle. They are not sold in the App Store or on Google Play, so every cookbook refund is handled the way this page describes. (The app subscription is different — it can also be bought inside the store apps, and then the store handles the refund. That is covered in the App terms, not here.)
Every cookbook refund is paid out by Paddle, back to the payment method you used. You do not have to go to Paddle yourself: write to us at admin@sofiayuzu.com, we authorise it, and Paddle sends the money. Paddle's own support can also help with an invoice, a duplicate charge or a chargeback. We never see or store your card details.
If Paddle's checkout says something about your rights that is less favourable to you than what this page says, what this page says applies to what we provide.
2. What you are buying
Each cookbook is a downloadable PDF. The current prices are shown on the shop page, and Paddle shows you the exact total before you confirm. In the EU and the UK the price you see already includes VAT; in the United States sales tax, where it applies, is added at checkout. Prices are shown in euro or in US dollars depending on where you are; if you pay in another currency, your bank or Paddle converts it.
Delivery is electronic and immediate: the download unlocks the moment the payment succeeds, and we email you the link as well.
There is no subscription, no renewal and no recurring charge. You buy the book once.
3. The one case where all sales are final
If you live in the EU or the UK, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about something bought online, without giving a reason. A downloadable file is the exception to that rule — but the exception only works if you asked for the file to be delivered straight away and you were told what that costs you.
So before the download starts, the checkout asks you to confirm two separate things:
- "I ask you to start the download now, before the 14-day withdrawal period ends."
- "I understand that once the download has started I lose my right to change my mind."
And then we email you a confirmation of the order — what you bought, what you paid, and both of those statements repeated back to you, so you have a record of them that we cannot edit afterwards. The law requires all three steps, not just the two boxes.
If all three happened and the download began, that sale is final.
If any of them did not happen — no boxes, or no confirmation email — nothing was waived. Section 5 applies: you keep the full 14 days and all of your money back.
This is the one and only place where "all sales are final" is a true statement about anything we sell. It is true here because the file is yours the moment you get it and cannot be handed back. It is not true of the app subscription, and it is not true of a cookbook order where those three steps did not all happen.
Even where the sale is final, sections 4 and 5 still apply. A final sale means you cannot return a working file because you changed your mind. It does not mean we keep your money when something went wrong.
4. If the file will not download, or is faulty
We fix this, always, whatever you confirmed at checkout.
Write to admin@sofiayuzu.com and tell us what happened. Useful things to include: the email address you ordered with, the name of the book, and roughly when you bought it. A screenshot helps but is not required.
We will:
- send you a fresh download link, or the file itself, if the link expired, never arrived or will not open;
- replace the file if it is corrupt, truncated or will not render;
- fix the book and reissue it if a recipe is missing, a page is blank or the content is wrong;
- refund you in full if we cannot get you a working file.
This covers billing problems too: a duplicate charge, a charge for something you did not order, or the wrong amount. We refund those without argument.
We do not put a time limit on a broken file. If the book you bought two years ago will not open, write to us.
What is not a fault: not liking the recipes, owning a device that cannot open a PDF, or buying the same book twice on purpose. The first is taste, the second we will help you with, the third we will still refund if you tell us.
5. If those three steps did not all happen
Then nothing was waived. You keep the full 14 days, and if you tell us within them that you have changed your mind, you get all of your money back through Paddle. You do not have to give a reason.
The 14 days run from the day you placed the order.
How to tell us. Any clear statement is enough — an email to admin@sofiayuzu.com saying you want to withdraw is perfectly sufficient. You can use the form below if you prefer, but you do not have to.
Model withdrawal form

I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following cookbook order:
Book title(s): [TITLE(S)]
Order reference: [REFERENCE]
Ordered on: [DATE] · Received on: [DATE]Name: [YOUR NAME]
Address: [YOUR ADDRESS]
Email used for the order: [YOUR EMAIL]Date: [DATE]
Signature (only if you send this on paper): ______________
It is enough that you send your notice before the 14 days run out — it does not have to reach us within them. And withdrawing costs you nothing: there is no fee of any kind for handling it.
Once you have told us, we authorise the refund with Paddle and it goes back to the card or account you paid with, within 14 days of us hearing from you. How quickly it then shows up is down to your bank.
Please stop using the file and delete your copy once you have withdrawn.
6. Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong with a payment, please write to us first — admin@sofiayuzu.com. Nearly everything is a duplicate charge or a misunderstanding, and we can refund it far faster than a bank can.
If you do open a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, it goes to Paddle, because Paddle is the merchant of record for the sale. While it is open we may suspend access to the download, and if it is decided against us we will not come back and ask you for the money.
Paddle may also refund a purchase on its own initiative under its own buyer terms, without us asking it to.
A chargeback does not take away any right you have by law. It is simply a slower route to the same place.
Where the same buyer keeps raising fraudulent chargebacks, we may refuse future orders. We do not refuse them for asking for your money back.
7. How to reach us, and how long we take
Phone: +380 93 118 22 96 — the line takes messages and points you to email.
Email: admin@sofiayuzu.com — the fast way to reach us; we answer in writing.
An AI assistant reads that mailbox first and answers routine things — cancelling a web subscription, questions about how the app works — and it says so at the start of every conversation. A person reads everything else, and every request about your data goes to a person. Please do not send us lab results or other health documents by email: put them in the app. If one arrives, we delete the message.
You can write to us in English, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Portuguese, Russian or Ukrainian.
How long we take. We usually answer within a week. Billing disputes and anything complex can take up to two weeks. Requests about your personal data are answered within one month (45 days if you are making a request under Washington State law), and any refund we owe you is paid within 14 days of your notice.
A broken file or a wrong charge is normally sorted the same or the next working day. If a week has gone by and you have heard nothing, send the message again — something went wrong at our end.
8. Your rights, and how to complain
Whatever this page says, you keep every right the consumer law of the country where you live gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement — including your rights about faulty digital content and about misleading information.
If we cannot sort a complaint out between us, you can take it to the consumer protection body or the courts in the country where you live. For anything about the payment itself, the invoice or a chargeback, Paddle's support is also open to you.
9. Languages
The English text of this page is the one we write and update first.
Where we have published a version in another language, that version is the one that applies to you and you can rely on it. If it differs from the English one, the meaning that is more favourable to you applies. Anything that was more favourable to you in an older translation still applies to what you did while that translation was the published one — we do not get to improve our position by being slow to translate. Once the Ukrainian version is published, it applies to users in Ukraine as Ukrainian law requires.
Today this page is published in English. Translations into German, Spanish, French, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian are being prepared, and each version will show when it was last updated. Until a version in your language is published, the English text applies. If you spot a difference between two versions, write to admin@sofiayuzu.com and we will fix whatever is wrong.
